This journey starts way back.
From 2018, when the last block of the factory was renovated for the expansion of the production area.
Perhaps from even earlier, to the dawn of the 2000s when, with the launch of our first website and the design of our logo, we became a brand.
However, if we want to start at the very beginning, we have to go back to 1993.
1993 is a year of crisis, in Italy as in the world. Here we witness the disintegration of an entire political class, while the fall of the countries of real socialism changed the face of the world we knew. It was the year of the Maastricht Treaty.
Moreover, it is the year when, Valter and Massimiliano Golfieri’s project began to take shape in a garage in Osteria Grande.
Of course, the birth of a tiny start-up in the province of Bologna is definitely a micro-event, if compared to such a big picture. As small as a spark in a pile of ashes.

Valter and Maximilian, father and son, have ideas on how to innovate wiring technology through the use of state-of-the-art machinery that can increase reliability and performance.
Quality, innovation and hard work pay off: Within a short time, Valter and Massimiliano made a name for themselves and their idea began to grow.
In 1996, only three years later, Cablotech already has headquarters covering 600 square meters; between 1997 and 1999, it takes possession of the first 3,000 square meters of the current plant.
Meanwhile, production expands to new fields and, along with turnover, technology, skills and vision grow.

Today, almost thirty years later, Cablotech wants to share with customers the excitement of the beginning of a new season, which sees the conclusion of the path that led to the renewal of our production layout and brand image.

Our history

We inaugurated the last factory block in 2018 and we were finally ready to expand the production area.
In the meantime, Cablotech had changed; it had opened up to new markets; it had implemented new production processes, gaining more and more experience in making custom electrical wiring harnesses, complete switchboards and electromechanical assemblies of all kinds; and it had initiated successful collaborations in numerous industries such as electro-medical, static uninterruptible power systems, welding machines and automatic payment systems.
Moreover, it obtained, in addition to the ISO 9001-TÜV held since 2002, certifications such as the Legality Rating (2 stars) related to ethical standards and the CRIBIS Prime Company for reliability in business relations.
Cablotech has always distinguished itself by being highly responsive to the challenges of the contemporary world: as early as 2008, it had become energy self-sufficient through the installation of a photovoltaic system while reducing methane gas consumption by 50 per cent through a redefinition of internal processes.

Looking carefully, the world of 2018 was also a different world.
A world that was again about to be overwhelmed by events that would revolutionize many aspects of it. By the end of the following year, in fact, we began to talk about a virus destined to have an entirely unprecedented impact on humanity.
The Covid-19 pandemic would shake many of our certainties: from a health emergency it would soon become an economic emergency as well, and eventually a social one, forcing everyone to become somewhat familiar with digital technologies, so much so that many analysts would speak of the pandemic as an ‘accelerator of the future’.
It may be that we were already on the move, but we at Cablotech did not let ourselves be overwhelmed,
proving once again that every crisis hides an opportunity: it is precisely under the banner of this philosophy that Cablotech was born, which has retained the indelible imprint of this philosophy in the company DNA.
Today we believe we have arrived on time at the appointment with the future.

This event was born by the will of a Technical Scientific Committee that brings together the representatives of business and craft associations of the biomedical district. It is a showcase of excellence, but also a unique opportunity to participate in an event with a program full of meetings, conferences and workshops that involved the major players in the sector and speakers among the major representatives of the university and business world.

BT EXPO wants to be an event with a strong innovative content, born from the comparison with all the entrepreneurial realities present in Mirandola, where the most important biomedical industrial district at national level and one of the first in the world is active.

The event involved the best of the entrepreneurial realities operating in the entire technological and production chain of the sector; from components to the finished product passing through the various electro-medical, measurement and control equipment. All seven sectors into which the medical device sector is traditionally divided – biomedical, electro-medical, in vitro diagnostics, biomedical instrumental, services and software, technical equipment, borderline – were represented at the highest levels.

Today we are proud to tell you about another aspect of this cooperation: in such a difficult period due to Coronavirus health emergency, we are very happy to support this team that is distinguishing itself not only for cycling performances.

The athlete Umberto Marengo, winner of a fraction of the Tour of Utah in 2019, took the field to bring his free and solidarity aid to Collegno, the city where he lives.

Always riding his KTM, the runner grinds km on km to deliver food, material and supportive packages to the most needy families. An optional way to continue training while giving concrete help during the lockdown.

During this health emergency Cablotech is present both at the production level and with the heart of the athletes it supports.

In such a difficult situation Cablotech wants to ensure its employees a safe working environment. The Company will be operative again on Tuesday – April 14th.

In compliance with the orders issued by the Italian government in recent weeks (and, in particular, the Prime Minister’s Decree of March 11, 2020), providing for urgent measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus throughout the country, Cablotech S.r.l. has adopted all of the restrictive measures required for the health and safety of its own employees and those of its customers and suppliers.

With the Prime Minister’s Decree of March 22, 2020, further, new restrictive measures entered into force, including, in particular, the suspension of all commercial and industrial production activities, with the exception of those deemed essential and expressly indicated in the attachment to the decree and their respective supply chains.

Cablotechbusiness falls within ATECO Code 33.20.02 (“installation of electric and electronic devices for telecommunications, radio/television transmission devices, electric and electronic equipment systems (excluding installation inside of buildings)”) and is, therefore, expressly included among the business activities that are allowed to continue (ATECO Code 33 macro-category).

Cablotech intends to support its customers, providing operational continuity, in strict compliance with the government orders and with the March 14, 2020 “Shared protocol regulating the measures to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the workplace” (as contemplated by article 1(3) of the Prime Minister’s Decree of March 22, 2020).

However, the situation is complex and continues to evolve.

Cablotech is trying to plan its production for the coming weeks and, as you can imagine, production has already been drastically reduced in order to comply with the restrictive measures.

Despite Cablotech’s best efforts, we cannot rule out or foresee the adoption of further restrictive measures or possible delays in production and relating deliveries, due, among other things, to possible decisions by Cablotech suppliers to suspend their activities.

Should that occur, in any case the delays would be of an exceptional and temporary nature, due to unforeseeable, unavoidable events of force majeure, in no way depending on Cablotech.

We will therefore provide you with updates concerning the delivery of orders in the process of being filled.

The sports group, managed by Angelo Citracca and with Luca Scinto in charge of the team, will participate to the next Giro d’Italia starting in Budapest on 9 May. The approach to the Rosa race will be marked by important events such as the UAE Tour, the Milan Sanremo and the Giro di Sicilia.

Cablotech will see its logo on the collar of the jersey, carried around the world in the many commitments of 2020 season.

The meeting, organized in the beautiful setting of Villa Benni in Bologna, was sponsored by the municipality of Bologna and Confindustria.
The theme of the festival, since the first edition, is “Finance, Environment and Sustainability”: the topic has been chosen in the awareness that the real turning point will be when we succeed in combining business, with its essential objectives of growth and profit, with sensitivity and respect for the environment.

The topic is addressed from different perspectives: on the one hand that of an international opinion leader such as Alan Friedman, a regular guest of the festival, and on the other those of entrepreneurs and innovators in the area: this year Marco Astorri – CEO of Bio-On and Massimo Monti– CEO of Alce Nero.

The audience consists of 100 business owners and professionals from the Emilia Romagna region.
The goal of the evening was to deepen the evolution and develop new innovative paths in the field of sustainable finance by presenting virtuous examples of entrepreneurship of our territory: companies and entrepreneurs who have been able to combine finance and investment with sustainable and long-term issues.

On 9th November 2018 Cablotech was awarded the Paolo Mascagni “Imprese che crescono” Prize.

This award, that since 2018 has told the history of 288 companies, was established by Confindustria Emilia Area Centro in cooperation with Il Resto del Carlino. Cablotech was one of the 54 companies which took part to the 7th edition of the event.

At the award ceremony there were prominent personalities of the regional and national productive landscape: vice presidents of Confindustria Emilia Mr. Valter Caiumi and Mr. Riccardo Maiarelli, general director of Confindustria Emilia Mrs. Tiziana Ferrari, the director of QN and Il Resto del Carlino Mr. Paolo Giacomin, chief innovation evangelist of Bip Group Mr. Ivan Ortenzi and the head of advisory of Korn Ferry Mrs. Cinzia Tommasi.

More than one participant highlighted how at the center of the territorial development there is the capacity of innovation and growth of companies and businessmen, who combine in their daily activity tradition, ideas and dedication to work.

If the company resists and grows, the whole territory draws strength from it: development is always a value, independently form starting dimensions. Cablotech with its history is an instance of it: “We were born in a small garage with the desire to create a competitive activity in the field of wirings”.

It is possible to say that the purpose has been reached, considering that today the group counts 65 partners in a 3400 m2 area. We are partner of an American multinational and operate in different fields, from the medical sector to the one of lighting for shows.
